Re. the included excursions for Edinburgh and Liverpool...

Is the ending time when they drop you back at the ship?

If your tour is earlier in the day, will they drop you off in the city center so that you can tour on your own? or do you have to go back to the ship?

 

I am asking as we will be meeting up with friends at each of these ports. 

In Liverpool our included tour is over at 5pm, which is when we are hoping to meet our friends since we are in port until 11pm.

In Edinburgh the included tour is over at 1pm, with the boat in port until around 5pm.

I think if you ask they will let you stay in the town. in Liverpool the ship is within walking distance of the town and its sites... J

Have a chat with the guide to let them know that you would like to remain in the town and not return to the ship. If the last stop on the tour doesn't work, they may be able to work with the driver to stop briefly on the return to the ship and drop you off. A number of pax will depart the tours at the end and do additional exploring.

 

Having departed the Viking excursion, you are then responsible for getting back to the ship prior to all aboard.

PS. The traffic in Edinburgh is very heavy so you need to make time for the return to the ship..  Your friends would advise on this.  J
