dphanes Posted July 6, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2022 When someone gets Covid they can sometimes still have a positive test a month or so after having Covid and recovering. I don’t see any latitude in this situation where a doctor could write a note saying the person has recovered. From all I have read if you don’t have a negative test you don’t get onboard even if fully vaccinated. Does anybody know what happens in this scenario? thanks
Lane Hog Posted July 6, 2022 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2022 Any documentation of when you first tested positive?... Did you test at home or a lab? If you have a lab test showing positive, you might be in luck. If it was a home test, possibly not so lucky. Here's Royal's policy.https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-recovered-from-covid-19-need-to-be-vaccinated-or-take-a-test-to-sail

irishgal432 Posted July 6, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2022 If you have a pcr test doecumentation, you can sail with a letter of recovery within 90 days of initial tests. Keep in mind some countries will not accept the lor, so make you read through the above link.
Ken at the beach Posted July 6, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2022 Are you still actually testing positive or jus reading that you can. When testing for the cruise make sure to use the rapid antigen test as opposed to the PCR or rapid NAAT. The rapid antigen is much less sensitive and most people will test negative after 7-10 days.
Host Jacquelyn Posted July 6, 2022 #6 Share Posted July 6, 2022 If you have a positive PCR test, you can get a Certificate of Recovery from your doctor 11-90 days after the date of the positive test. If it was not PCR, you cannot use a COR. That said, most people do not continue to test positive with Antigen tests at the 30 day mark (but still possible with PCR). All Royal Caribbean needs is negative Antigen.
