Pre-cruise purchases

If you purchase something through Carnival in advance of your cruise (drink package, internet package, beverages for your cabin, etc.), does it get charged to your sail-and-sign account?  Or do you pay by credit card?

Mine was charged on my credit card when I made the purchase.

I was given what is called Cruise Cash Bar, can I buy alcohol prior to our cruise with it or do I have to use it once I am onboard?  My TA gave it to me and it does show on my booking.

If you try to make a preboard purchase, it will give you the option if you can use it
