Allure OTS Internet Cafe

DW and I are on the Allure for the Feb 12 sailing. When the ship returns to Galveston on the 19th, we disembark and head down the way and board the Ruby Princess for another 7 day cruise. Which means (right now) we need to have a COVID test done while on the Allure. Currently plan is to take a couple (maybe 3 in case of problems) Binax now proctored tests. We are buying the VOOM internet package, and plan on doing our tests using the computers in the internet cafe. Does anyone know if the internet is fast enough on the Allure to be able to do the online testing?

Yes, but the internet cafe PCs don't typically have the web cam needed for the test.

Why not do them via your cell phone the morning you return while waiting to disembark?

Just got off of Allure on 7/31.  The internet was pitiful the entire voyage--can't believe they have the nerve to charge for it.  I wouldn't want to rely on it for a monitored covid test.

Interesting... as the internet worked great for our friends recently on Allure!  Maybe it was the itinerary and location.

I would test late the night prior to disembarking when fewer may be online versus the following morning. Depending on port arrival times, sometimes we've been logged off early on disembarkation morning. YMMV
