Join the Bird for a short break to the Western Caribbean, featuring port calls in Harvest Caye and Cozumel on the Norwegian Breakaway. This is the Breakaway’s final cruise of her Caribbean season, lasting only 5 days. This allows 2 days to reposition the ship from Miami to New York, without passengers (can you say Crew Party!). Once back to her home of New York, the Breakaway will begin a fall season cruising to New England and Canada.

The Norwegian Breakaway was the first of a new Breakaway/ Breakaway Plus class of ships (including the Breakaway, Getaway, Escape, Joy, Bliss, and Encore). All of the ships were built at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany. The Breakaway construction began on September 21, 2011 and she was delivered to NCL on April 25, 2013.

The ship was originally home ported in New York. Her New York-themed hull art was designed by Peter Max. The ship was christened by godmothers, The Rockettes, on May 8, 2013. The Breakaway was refurbished in 2018 and 2022. The Bird sailed on the Breakaway’s first voyage to the Eastern Caribbean in 2013.

The Breakaway has a double occupancy capacity of 3959 and crew of 1657.

Come along with the Bird for a Western Caribbean Short Break on the beautiful Norwegian Breakaway.

Departing from the new Pearl of Miami terminal. Opened with the restart of cruising last year, the 188,000 sq ft terminal accommodates all of the NCL ships and replaces the old Terminal B/C which were the main NCL berths for years.

Thanks for taking us along we will be doing the breakaway in oct to New England and a Canada first of 20 plus cruises that will be cold weathered but we wanted to try something different.  Appreciate your reviews and great to hear that the breakaway is one of the ships that’s already transferred over to Coke.  Enjoy your quick getaway!

There was a very important upgrade made to the ship last week.

Are the “premium package” shown here and the “Adult beverage package” that comes with the free at sea promotion the same?

I am going on a Canada Cruise on the Breakaway in a few weeks.  You had the BEST review of the Encore last year when cruising first started, which was a couple weeks before I went!  Here we are again - me following in your footsteps!   So happy to be able to get your insights again Ms. Bird!  I hope you have a BLAST!
