Non Cruise Holiday - Yech!!!

Calling Kiwi Ian...Calling Kiwi Ian,

Will be in NZ for three weeks in Feb/Mar 07. Have relatives in Whangamata on the Coromandel so looking for a different experience for one of the three weeks. Done the Bay of Plenty (Ohope, Ohiwa, Whakatane, etc), so was wondering should I take my bride back to the Mount or adventure north to Waitangi, Paihia and the Bay of Islands (I can get a timeshare in either spot).

Sucked back a few jugs of Lion Brown in the Mount many years ago, but some people say I'm a little more couth these days (don't play rugger any more).

If you answer Paihia, what's the best way to get there from Whangamata and how long would it take to get there? ...was thinking of a care hire for the week...would appreciate your thoughts cobber.
