Rare PandaBear62 Posted August 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2022 I am on my first Celebrity cruise next month. I have sailed RCCL, HAL, Carnival, Princess and DCL in the last few years and Princess and DCL since Covid. So I am familiar with cruising in general. 1. Does Celebrity (Specifically Summit) use cash for the casinos? We were surprised in July to discover the slots used the medallion to gamble and not cash. 2. What's the dress code like for gala/formal nights? Similar to the other mainstream lines or more formal? I typically wear nice silk like pants and dressy blouse and nice flats, or a "going to church" dress (ie, not a cocktail or formal dress) and find I fit in with probably 60-70% of passengers, with maybe 10-15% much dressier and 20-25% much less so. 3. We have the Dining Anytime. Can we ask to be put at a table with others? Or will we always be seated as a table for two. Thank you for any information you can share. Rare PinkSandGirl Posted August 17, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2022 Hi! Welcome to Celebrity! My answer is in bold after your question. 1. Does Celebrity (Specifically Summit) use cash for the casinos? Yes. Cash is used. I haven't sailed on the Summit, but other Celebrity ships and they take cash. 2. What's the dress code like for gala/formal nights? Similar to the other mainstream lines or more formal? I typically wear nice silk like pants and dressy blouse and nice flats, or a "going to church" dress (ie, not a cocktail or formal dress). Your attire will fit in just fine. Celebrity now calls their Formal Nights: Evening Chic. With the name change came a new description for attire which is basically designer jeans to ball gowns and anything in between. Whatever you consider Evening Chic. 😉 3. We have the Dining Anytime. Can we ask to be put at a table with others? Or will we always be seated as a table for two. From what others have reported, Yes. Since other people have first hand knowledge, I'll let someone else answer this with more detail for you. I travel with others so we sit together at our own table. 🍹

We always prebook our preferred time which is 6.30. This gives a relaxed 2 hours for dinner ready for the 9.0pm show in the theatre. Free to book, just go to Speciality Dinning then right to the bottom of the page , unfortunately you have to do each night individually. On arriving at dinner you will greeted by the Hostess and asked for your cabin number. At that point we say our number followed "by sharing please table for 6". There are other sizes but we find 6 gives a good mix. Repeat nightly. If you later want to share with someone in particular just arrange to come together and the Hostess will happily accommodate you. Enjoy.
Holly g Posted August 18, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2022 Just off the Summit two weeks ago. We were never asked if we wanted to sit at a larger table instead of just for two. We were always asked that on all of our prior Celebrity cruises, including the Summit which actually was fine with me due to on going Covid problem. Also noticed that they had many more two tops than prior cruises. most people did not mask even in the theater but post cruise lots came came down with Covid. Rare lorimay Posted August 18, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2022 Even if you are sitting at a table for 2 on the Summit you will be sitting with others because the tables are only inches apart. There’s no private conversations!

We don't wait to be asked, as I said, we simple say our cabin number followed by "sharing please". When we did this in 2021 we were politely told it wasn't possible due to Covid. For both our cruises in 2022 it was not an issue and we shared a table for 6 every night.
