New York Port of Call

New York yellow cabs have a number on the roof. If it's lit, it's available.  If not, they either have a passenger or are off duty.

Shift change happens at 5pm, so starting around 4pm until after 6 it can be difficult to find a taxi. A lot of their garages are in the outer boroughs ( not Manhattan) so they need time to get back there.
