Information needed for Homewood Suites in Miami

We are booked there before and after our cruise for one night each way. Since nobody has mentioned this hotel I was just wondering if it is close the pier we are cruising from Miami. and how the hotel is. Is there a

shopping area close by and any restaurant recommendations you may have for us. We are traveling with our daughter and son-in-law so we have a suite with two bedrooms. If anyone has any insight into this establishment, and the shopping and restaurants please let us know.

Hi, we just came back from Miami Feb 10, on Carnival Triumph and did a Pre cruise stay at Homewood,well The hotel is nice and clean staff very nice. You are about 9 miles from the port. There is no shopping near the hotel. I would recommend renting a car like we did. Just call the hotel and ask for the Enterprise near them will save you some money on airport taxes and Enterprise will deliver it right to the hotel. We went into Miami to Bayside to do a bit of shopping it was nice it is near the port also had dinner at Bubba Gumps that was great but a bit pricey Bayside has about 100 or more stores and lounges also music on the water very nice. When we cruise out of Miami we may use this hotel again but the Holiday Inn Port side is right across from Bayside and a 2 min taxi ride to the port hope this helps
