What kind of Covid Test does NCL use in the Medical Center

Hello All,

 

Has anyone been tested on the ship?  Do they use PCR or Antigen tests?

Is it that kind of test that they push far back into the nasal cavity?

Hmmm - I   thought ALL covid tests (both PCR and Antigen) had to be done "far back into the nasal cavity".....? At least that is how it is done here in Norway.

I've never had an Antigen test in the US that involved anything like that.  It's always just wipe around the inside of the nostril.  Do people still complain?  YES!!!  Do they make silly statements like it's killing them??  Of course!!!  People will be people.  I have had one PCR test that involved the "real" swabbing, and agree that it's not the most comfortable experience.  I lived.

The use both antigen and PCR tests depending on purpose. Neither is “far back”.

Did a PCR test on the bliss back in December and it definitely did not go all the way back. Infact, it was in and out in literally 1 second, made me feel like they purposely didn't want a positive.
