Cruising through Canada and Covid testing

Doesn't Canada allow you to enter if you had a Positive Test within the last 180 days if you are now asymptomatic?

https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/cruise

"All travellers 5 years of age or older must have a COVID-19 test to board a cruise ship in Canada or to board a cruise ship that will dock in Canada at any point on the cruise. You must provide proof of one of the following accepted types of test results:...

...Previous positive molecular test result: you no longer have symptoms and provide proof of a positive molecular test taken at least 10 calendar days and no more than 180 calendar days before you board. Counting starts the day after your test."

Or does Princess choose to not take advantage of that portion of the Canadian laws regarding cruise ships??

Anyone have some experience with this section of Canadian law on a Princess Cruise?

I’m not sure of your concern.  While a PCR test may still show up positive for a while and in some people weeks after recovery, a rapid antigen test tends not to show positive after full recovery.  So you should be safe to follow the rapid antigen route - either proctored or in person.  You can always try a self test antigen to be sure.

Thanks for the suggestion, but nope, you can't be sure.

Both my wife's doctor and mine have advised us that your body can have viral shedding for up to 90-180 days after being diagnosed thus creating a false positive. Consequently neither a PCR nor antigen test is going to be an absolute accurate measurement of current infection.

This is specifically why Canada (but unfortunately not Princess) allows for this by not requiring either test to board a cruise ship provided you can prove you had Covid up to 180 days previous.

Thanks
