Bringing Wine Onboard

I plan on checking (as luggage) a case of wine through the airline we're flying and bringing it onboard the Caribbean Princess. The question I have is, how do I label the case? Do I simply attach the luggage tag only? That sounds too easy, what am I missing?

You need to check with your airline. Generally, they will ask you if you have flamables,etc in your baggage. You should probably call the airline ahead of time to be safe.

Make sure the wine is securely packed. There are special wine shipping boxes that you can get that have extra padding both on the outside of the box and between the bottles. I would suggest investing in one of them. Here are a couple of options.

Definitely check with the airline, some won't take checked wine because of liability (breakage) issues.

A full case of wine! :) Sounds as though it's "party time", but most cruise lines might only let you bring on a bottle. They want to sell you booze on board. Check your cruise line brochure for their policy. :mad:

Princess doesn't have restrictions on wine, soda, or water, unlike some of the other cruiselines. You may be charged a corkage fee if you bring our wine to the dining room to be served.

How about Carnival? Can you bring in boxes of wine? Can you take it as carry on and bring it right to your room or do they take it from you and serve you? Geezzz I hope it hasn't come to that:)
