New England / Canada : Voyager of the Seas Sept 18th - Sept 25th. Semi-Live

Good info @SlightDraw, thank you!  Disappointed in the casino offerings.  I enjoy sitting at the bar, watching the game and slowly draining my wallet into a video poker machine.  Guess I'll need to come up with something else.

I thought that Voyager got a refresh during the shutdown, so didn't think there would be much work needed.  Guess I'll need to have another cocktail, so I don't notice when I'm on board next month...  🤪

MDR lobster was decent, but not as soft succulent and fresh tasting as the one in Portland.

Stops were Portland, St John, Sydney and Bar Harbor was canceled.

Currently up in Viking and it's super windy.

Access to deck 12 has been blocked due to wind conditions.

How have the seas been?  Cruisemapper says you guys are hitting some pretty good swells.

Wind was at 30 knots and 9 foot swells according to Capt Thor.

But now as of 1PM ship time wind has subsided and seas are looking calm.

How long ago were you on Adventure? We board on the 29th.  Did you do MTD?

We were on Sept 1 through Sept 10th. We did do MTD. We had reservations..there were 5 of us and really had no issues at all. We loved Shon and thought he did a great job getting us to a table!

Voom.

We purchased a Voom surf and stream package.

Speeds are pretty terrible, but decent enough for email, teams chat, Whatsapp, Google Duo/meet, and social media.

Streaming was iffy,  Just basic YouTube shorts took time to buffer and play. Netflix- once your show buffered it played well. Kudo's to Netflix algorithm for streaming. Amazon could not get app to open

Whatsapp and Duo/meet  carrier Wifi Calls were very clear and I was able to use almost everywhere on ship.

Speeds were al over place . Fastest I I observed was in Izumi.  I used Fast app to test as speed test was never able to find a server .

Any signs of SpaceLink being installed? I know they are working to install on all ships soon,  just wondering if you saw any evidence of it?  Thanks!

I searched  around the outside of  ship. Nothing to suggest any Starlink installations.

Bad news update, but expected with Fiona..

Capt Thor just announced Bar Harbor canceled. Weather too rough to tender,.

Tomorrow will be a sea day.

sorry to hear this.  I was on ADV OTS and your ship was in port with us in St Johns and Sydney.

We all waved to your ship and heard the horns by the captains.  Some of us were wondering if your ship would get to do Bar Harbor.  I guess the weather really did reach in land more that it was thought.

We got to do Bar Harbor on Mon 19th and had nice weather and then came the rainy St Johns.

Sorry again you did not get to go to Bar Harbor.

Our Friday was very rocky and ship was going full speed.

Our final mela in MDR.

Sukayani and Kenyah 2 of the finest people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They provided the best service I have ever experienced on an RCL ship. Prompt , polite, and always over the top type service.

Hopefully you guys get them as your wait staff team.

I see you, and raise you a sunset AND icebergs while sailing away from Greenland (Sept. 13th) on the transatlantic.  Our view from our dinner table.  🙂

Officially off of ship

Disembarkation was super simple for my wife and I. But my parents stated they waited about 20 min which is still better than most other ports. We all did walk off with our own luggage. We left our room at 8am and where standing outside by 810AM. My parent's by 830.

Customs will be on deck 4  of ship checking passports as you walk off ship, once you do that a few more steps and you officially scan your sea pass card and walk down ramp off of ship.

View of dock as you get out. Left view PXL_20220925_122907902.thumb.jpg.2b679e1846217a457bb2a97e968f4d22.jpg

As you get out of Pier there are numerous buses for excursions and possible pre paid transport.

Down to the left end of port there is information for transport.

Also bathrooms by Door B.

So yesterday we hit all the indoor bars. Here is something to chew on. So we headed  to crown lounge. Closed for Pinnacle only. Wow. We peaked in and there were 3 members inside. At the Sam time the diamond lounge on this ship is very small, cramped. Maybe a swap is in order, just saying.

We were on the cruise, too. And got some info about the expanded lounges. When there are more than 50 Pins, they are moved from the suite lounge to the VCL/ High Note for the happy hour.

Same for D and D+, as they expanded their lounged into half of Star Lounge. The LA didn't tell us the number where they did that- but there were quite a few more D and D+ than Ps on the sailing.

Either way, the D/D+ expansion was considerably bigger than for the Ps.

And if it helps, the P event was well attended at times we were there.

we had a great time on the cruise, too.
