Hey Cotton, have a NOLA question again. I know you said the company you know of does not deliver alcohol to the ships but do you know of one that does just regular baskets? I really need a 5th birthday basket for my daughter and I know trust the company I was dealing with. I'm back to searching the internet.

Hoski, finally,you might just be in luck!?

 

I saw this post earlier today, but just now got in touch with a friend in N.O. She suggested the following company, said she's used them a few times and they are VERY reliable. They do delivery locally, so she is assuming they will deliver to the ship.

 

I told her the basket would be for a child, and she said she sent her 7-yr. old nephew a basket from these folks a few months ago, and it was an adorable basket, filled with all kindsa stuff they he liked. Said it was around $35, and the basket was called "Delight A Child" or something like that.

Cotton, you will not believe this but this is the woman I've had the run around with but she seems to have gotten it together so today I ordered the "child's fun basket" from her plus 12 pk of Pepsi and Orange slice and a big bunch of balloons for daughter. Thank you so much and you also passing on the name makes me sure she will come thru. The only downfall is the total delivery charge to a cruise ship is $20.

What are the odds of us coming up with the same company??? (My friend said there are tons of basket companies in the city now.)

I will get back to you after Sept. to let you know. Carnival charges $8 and the company charges $12. A little ticked because it stated on the website that delivery to downtown was free and that is what she originally said for the ship also but now it is $12. I'm just glad to have it almost arranged.

ok, I've completed my order. They did not want to charge my cc till Sept but I wanted a guarantee so said to charge it now and send a receipt. Since we are staying two days post cruise in NOLA if the basket is a no show I can contact the company and have it taken care of.

 

I order thru Janice the owner and she was very helpful. Here is what I ended up with: Child's Fun basket $25, 12 pk of Pepsi, 12 pk of Orange slice, Balloon bunch with 1 mylar and 4 latex total of $41 plus tax and delivery $62.64.

 

There was some confusion as to adding wine as she stated that she had an affilate that could do it but when I wanted to order it was non-alcoholic. Would I recommend them? Yes, just keep after them if they do not return your emails. I really thinks that something went amiss during the 2 weeks I got no response because at first and after I got great service. After Sept. I will let you know how it was. I have sent baskets/sodas before and even factoring in the shipping the price was good. Most places charge a lot more for soda and I just didn't want to deal with flying with it this trip. Wish me luck.

I certainly DO wish you luck, since you've had such a hard time with the arrangements. If I lived in N.O., I'd do it for you! I really would. (I did baskets when I had my catering business.)

I think she will come thru for us. It seemed to help that I told her I was posting my experience on the cruise boards and that it could help her business. I'm very excited about it and hope DD will like it.
