azgrandmax3 Posted September 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Can't get straight answer when I read about the Italian venue. Has anyone recently eaten there during lunch times. Is there acost as there is during dinner times. Website for Carnival reads $16 for dinner. Other guest have written excellent lunch no charge. Thanks for your help. Rare shof515 Posted September 20, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2022 lunch is just various pastas dishes that you can customize they have 3 types of pastas, 3-4 sauces and then a lot of fillings that you add in
jsglow Posted September 20, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2022 Think of Cucina Capitano as 2 venues in one: complimentary pasta lunch which is actually quite good and a sit down upcharge dinner venue featuring an extensive (and excellent) menu at night.
Dwright826 Posted September 20, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2022 So, we've done both and recently. Pasta bella for lunch, at no charge. Cucina Capitano for dinner, Additional charge. Both fan-freaking-tastic.
azgrandmax3 Posted September 21, 2022 Author #5 Share Posted September 21, 2022 Thank you for responding, it helps. This is our first Carnival cruise in years, not sure where we can have lunch since we will not board till after 1:30. It has been very time consuming to find times for most of the eating venues. If you want bbq, it closes at 2:30. Which makes no sense...

Well, to be completely honest, big chicken is probably your best bet for embarkation lunch. When people are boarding and looking for some lunch, typically we see people pass guys or the iguana and say ayyye, let's eat there. And very few people make it to big chicken before getting in line somewhere else. There were lines 20-30 people deep at every place but big chicken was almost immediate service. We boarded at 12:30. Hope it helps!

Hope it helps! This was true on our August 29th Radiance sailing. We went first to Shaq's for a sandwich and there was one person ahead of us waiting to order. Then we went to the buffet when it was less crowded for some of their excellent ribs. The buffet ribs were better than the offerings at Pig and Anchor, tbh.
