anyone use shuttle from Holiday Inn Galveston?

We are staying at the HI-Galveston and want to leave our car in their free parking lot. Is the shuttle a major hassle to get, and when does it start running? There are 8 of us traveling together. Is the shuttle the best way or should we just get a couple of taxis?

There are 2 HI's in Galveston. The older one in the 5000 block of Seawall, and then a new, Sunspree Resort HI closer to the pier in the 1700 block of Seawall. We stayed at the newer one for our 2/11 sailing and it was very nice. Was able to get a better price there than the other one as they are trying to build up their clientele. Paid $79/ night.

They had a shuttle and trailer for luggage parked out front, but were waiting for their permits to be issued. So they issued a $20 credit against the room for taxi service. The $20 didn't quite cover the cost with tip, but was close enough. The parking was free in a gated lot. In other words, we would stay there again.

Hope this helps.
