tgillim Posted March 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2006 I've looked through most of the threads, and can't find a "Drive & Cruise" type package for Miami. We will be driving down, and from past experience (Port Canaveral and Port of Tampa) have found that some hotels near the port have a program where if you book the night there for pre-cruise, you will have "free" parking during your cruise, and hotel provided transportation to and from the pier. This was considerably less expensive than staying at a hotel, and leaving our car at the pier. The entire cost of the "package" ended up being really close to just what it would cost to park for the week at the pier. Anybody know what hotels in Miami offer this type of program? Don't know if it matters or not, but even though we will be driving, we will also be picking up other cruisers at the airport that will be staying in the same hotel. Thanks in advance for any and all help!!!

Meemers2005 Posted March 6, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2006 We also are driving to Miami for the cruise and I did a little research. If you are interested, I just found what I feel is a great deal. We will be staying at the Baymont Inn & Suites for $83.00 +tax and that includes one night stay, parking for the week of the cruise and the shuttle to the port. I called Baymont to ask how the shuttle worked and the person I spoke to said to just let them know we need it when we check in. Unfortunately, the port authority regulates the transportation out of the port, so we will need to find our own way back to the hotel. Hoping it isn't too difficult:confused:

tgillim Posted March 12, 2006 Author #7 Share Posted March 12, 2006 Your information is actually better in price than what I have also found through the links offered by bequia above. However...Cindy really wants to stay at a location closer to the port. We're still looking if anyone can find one by the port, but I really think in the end, we'll settle for the Baymont. Thanks again!

Thanks again! No free parking by the port. The closest area to the port is downtown and parking downtown is usually in garages=expensive. I don't think any of the downtown hotels have free parking during your stay.
