Question about cancelling

I am trying to help my granddaughter with a little pre knowledge of cancelling.  She is already aware she is in the phase to only get 50% back. My questions is wouldn’t these fees be refunded in full.tax’s/port charges,  gratuities,  drink package gratuities,  dining package gratuities,  insurance. I know several years ago my husband cancelled last minute (i went) and i got all his prepaid fees refunded. 

I feel bad for them (both college students) but it has to be done and bite the nasty bullet of losing money.

yes the fees and extras should be refunded-she would only be out the 50% of the cruise fare

 

but you mention insurance so she would file a claim for the lost cruise fare

@cruisinmeme  The only thing that is subject to cancellation fee is the base cruise fare itself. Everything else is refundable. If booked through a travel agent, your agent may levy additional charges. The cancellation fee can be submitted as an insurance claim.
