George Town, Grand Cayman

On an upcoming RSSC cruise stopping in George Town, our original booked excursion was cancelled. They have added a few new excursions, but so far, none are really of interest to us. So my question is - where does the tender drop us off? Is it right at a downtown sort of area where we can simply go off the ship on our own, explore shops and such, maybe grab lunch and then head back? Or will be be dropped someplace where we will first need transport to someplace else?

You will be dropped off right in the downtown area. However if the weather is not great, they will anchor in South Sound, which will be a bus ride to downtown, or a taxi.

Generally you will be dropped right at the shopping area. Unless you are a diver or want to sit at the beach, there is not much to do in Grand Cayman so your plan is the best!

We've been to Grand Cayman a number of times.  We love walking 7 mile beach from one end to the other. It's 4 miles long and the water is very picturesque, clear, warm and salty.  You can have lunch at one of the hotels. It's a pleasant way to spend a day.
