Odyssey Transatlantic something’s up

It’s almost 6 am here, we left Madiera yesterday afternoon heading home 280 degrees (mostly west) towards Fort Lauderdale. 

Recently we turned due north 360 degrees and have slowed to 4 knots.

looking at the tv we are doing 3.8 it’s and the ship is shaking..

my first thought was med evac as well….

Picking up speed and turning towards west again, maybe find out later what happened

Slowing down again, now turned south, helicopter has made multiple approach’s to ship, helicopter appears more military than medical, maybe all that’s around. Also a small plane passing us as well

Almost certainly a med evac. Pretty common on TAs with a much older than normal clientele. We had one off the Azores on Wonder in April.

SAR service will not necessarily have the same markings as USCG, and helicopters will often be accompanied by fixed wing aircraft to monitor operations.  Ship speed and direction will be  directed by pilot for a safe operation.

Back on course now, Captain did make an announcement saying there was a passenger on board that required more medical attention then the ship could provide. Prayers to passenger and family
