tutumomickey Posted November 13, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2022 We are in Lahaina in March and the cruise ship has no dive options. Anyone have experience with a good operator near the port? PADI shearch shows one shop that does not have a dive until 1230, too late for our departure.
omeinv Posted November 13, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2022 It’s been several years since I’ve dove with them myself, and they’ve changed ownership, but Maui Diving was good when I was there. We fairly regularly send open water students to them on referral, and they’ve all been happy as well. (www.Maui ding.com). Also at least ten years since I’ve dove with them, but Lahaina Divers ifs close to the tender dock. They were more expensive then, and tended to run larger boats than I liked, but they certainly weren’t bad. Harris Denver, CO
Bobroo Posted November 16, 2022 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2022 If you limit yourself to PADI you are only going to get narrowed shops/boats who have sold their soul to PADI and all the shortcomings that come with it. Understanding that scuba is as big as as the oceans, try my suggestion: I went to Google maps, and typed in Lahaina harbor, clicked on the 'Nearby' button and typed in the word Scuba. I received a list of 21 dive operators and scuba shops on Maui.
SoCalMomof3 Posted November 22, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2022 We have used Extended Horizons multiple times over the years and have already had great trips. We also used Lahaina Divers a couple times and have had good trips as well.
