Sherbertscamper Posted November 16, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2022 We will be on a cruise in January, but we have never been to Galveston before. How much time would you recommend in Galveston before the cruise? The island does not look very large. Thanks!
Galveston Cruiser Posted November 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2022 Galveston has an incredible amount of history and home to many firsts in the State: Post Office, Opera House, hospital, golf course, country club, etc. as well as beautiful historic homes from 1839 on. ssb Posted November 16, 2022 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2022 (edited) Galveston is a major tourist destination with two large convention centers and with 6 -7 million annual visitors . Plan more days than you would think . Having over 4000 + vacation rentals should give you an idea of desirability. Sand and Seas Posted November 16, 2022 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2022 We stayed two nights before our cruise in late October. Now looking forward to going back to visit Galveston again. We loved walking around the downtown Strand area. Great food & live music everywhere. Lots of beautiful historic mansions. Two nights wasn't enough so we will be planning another cruise from Galveston.
