marianneyaya Posted March 6, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2006 Are there any shipwrecks that can be seen while snorkeling? If so...where? Thanks!
blueberry Posted March 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2006 If you go on the Jesse James snorkeling trip you go see two of the most visible wrecks. There is also supposed to be one right off shore at Elbow beach- but we've never actually seen it.
Swizzle v2.0 Posted March 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2006 There are dozens of shipwrecks in Bermuda, and some are excellent sites for snorkelling as they are in fairly shallow water (I think there are some that are only 15-30ft down). Do a quick search for websites by snorkel companies (Jesse James, Hartley's) and they will probably have maps on their websites of the best wrecks. Twinsmomct Posted March 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2006 Are there any shipwrecks that can be seen while snorkeling? If so...where?Thanks! Hey marianneyaya -- I see you're from Stratford. I'm from up the road in Monroe. Like the other poster said, check out Jesse James Cruises. They dive right over a wreck (I can't remember if it's their second or third stop). I didn't snorkel because I'm not the best swimmer, but the folks who run the outfit, Jimmy and Jill O'Connor, are very friendly and nice people and their cruise is a very relaxing and informative trip. Jimmy grew up on the island so he can tell you alot about its history. Their website is jessejames.bm.
