Yinster Posted December 4, 2022 #26 Share Posted December 4, 2022 Like someone said cabins are like dorm rooms, you can't choose your neighbours. You might find slightly less storage space as that door will have replaced a cupboard or drawers
sft429 Posted December 4, 2022 #27 Share Posted December 4, 2022 (edited) We were faced with this same dilemma a few years ago. We went with the "don't worry, you'll be fine" theory and kept our adjoining/connecting door cabin. During the cruise our neighbors weren't being loud but we could hear every word of their conversations and assumed that they could hear ours. We used towels and tape to cut down the noise through the doors and that helped a little. We'll never book adjoining cabins again... When the other cabin opened the balcony door it sounded like a jet plane bursting through the connecting door. Maintenance came up and used a roll of duct tape to seal it up. So take a roll of duct tape when you have an adjoining cabin.
mo&fran Posted December 4, 2022 #29 Share Posted December 4, 2022 A connecting cabin often has a chair, since a sofa would block the door.
