LindaJ+ Posted December 4, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2022 I was waitlisted for a HAL excursion in Chile on our upcoming South America cruise. I received an email that I had been notified that space had opened up and I had failed to respond within 72 hours to confirm going on the tour. I went through all my email, including my trashed mail, and found no such notification. They automatically removed me from the waitlist. It doesn't really matter because in the meantime I had found a local tour that sounded more interesting anyway ... but there seems to be a flaw in HAL's system somewhere. Anyone else have the same experience?
Rare Mary229 Posted December 5, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2022 I am glad you said that. I am rather obsessed with a clean email box and assumed I had thrown it out. Same as you I had booked something I preferred so didn’t pursue it further
ukpylot Posted December 5, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2022 Interesting, I'm waitlisted for the Torres Del Paine trip for the Feb 24 sailing and not sure if that will open up but if I never get a notification I will never know!
Ryten Posted December 5, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2022 We had been waitlisted for tour a month ago and received notice of a opening 3 days before the cruise. Per HAL policy all tour reservations closed 4 days prior to the cruise and I wasn't allowed to confirm the reservation online. I called ship services and advised of the problem and was told they would take care of it onboard. On the first day onboard I went to reserve the tour ( a 5 hour cooking extravaganza limited to 12 people) and was advised that they did not have any record of our reservation. I produced the reservation email form documenting the offer and was immediately placed on the priority waiting list. We heard nothing until 7:45 AM, the morning of the tour, when we were told there was an opening if we could make it by 8:30. Have asleep, we agreed and had the best tour we have ever had sponsored by HAL. I guess my point is, if you really want to go, miracles happen.
