Weather on SA/ Antarctic "drive by"

Going with 2 friends and my 6 year old daughter on the Sapphire Princess from Santiago Monday. Packing is a mess; how is the weather before reaching the Antarctic area this time of year? just wondering how many days of warm weather and how many days of cold weather to prepare for.  thanks!
