How much is too much?

It depends on the person. We are not drinkers and prefer to do our own thing at the ports and so my charges are usually measurable in decimal points. If one likes to imbibe the old ethanol, does cruise sponsored trips and generally utilizes all paid facilities it could land up costing as much as the cruise itself. Most people plan on 1/3 the cruise price

Too much is when your credit card is over the limit.:p

They make them stay over and do dishes and stack deck chairs?

Never really thought about it but that's pretty funny. Paging those people to square up their accounts and when they're AWOL the alarm goes off when their embarkation card is swiped that last time. Like the tollbooth runners in the EZPass lanes...AAAAAAAAAAAANK! (Sound of b-ball clock running out!)

Cheers,

Norman

Truth is stranger then fiction:eek:

My first cruise - had no clue how much it would cost -Ended up in the casino the last night trying to roll my last $50 (after paying down my account so it would clear) into enough to fill the envelopes. Had a great night and all the staff was covered. Got home with $11 to my name:D

What ever I want it to be. Some cruises I spent more. Disney cruises I'm a pin collector and went on the pin trading cruises so my balance at the end was way more then the cruise cost. Other cruises I can keep it down. It's all up to me!

My final bill has been from 90.00 to 700.00.. 90.00 when I cruised without my husband, 700.00 when he was there..

Too much to me would be over 700.00.. That is the amount I tuck away on the credit card to cover expenses.. We take cash to gamble.. I figure 50.00 a day a piece for us.. We take the tips from that amount too.. Neither of us drink much..

Carolyn - mine is just the opposite....spend less when DH is along and more when he isn't!

Mine has varied from $200-$600, so not really very extravagant. Not drinking alcohol makes a big difference. It's the gift shop that can get me into trouble.

Have fun!

I was on a 3 night Majesty Cruise a few years back paid about 350 for the cruise itself and spent close to 700. I was so happy to be there I think I was buying drinks for the entire bar... Have definitely been more careful since! Though I must say I had a great time and met a lot of people!

The only time we had a problem was the year we brought our then 13 year old son with us. He loved the idea of having his own card :D . Every day, actually several times a day, he would call room service and have them bring him a soda. His portion of the final onboard bill ended up being more than my husband's and mine combined!

Too much for us would be any amount which we could not pay off immediately upon receipt of the Mastercard bill.

Paying finance change for a vacation seems to be in the "Too Much" category for us. ;)

I guess I would flip if my OBC was equal to or more than the amount I paid for the cruise!! I would not be happy. Luckily, we generally get out spending 50% of the cruise price...

I've always gotten such great deals on my cruise that my final bill is usually at least the cost of the cruise.
