Ratpackcruiser Posted March 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2006 We are sailing on the Carnival Valor this Sunday and I was wondering if the plug in's have 2 prongs or 3 prongs and do we need to bring an extension cord and if so how long? Thanks!
Bonnie J. Posted March 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2006 You can plug anything you bring in, regular plug. We bring an extetion cord, as ships ususally have only have one plug in bath room and one plug in cabin and we may have more than one thing to plug in - charger for digital camera, my cell phone (which I don't use but want charged), etc.. Nliedel Posted March 7, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2006 They are US plugs on the popular out of the US cruiselines.
quagmire0 Posted March 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 7, 2006 I think the OP is looking for whether the outlets are 3 or 2 prong - I.e. Can they plug a power strip (3 prong) directly into the outlet, or do they need a 2 prong adapter?
RevSmith Posted March 7, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2006 Three...yes bring an extension cord and a strip to plug in other things.
Cotton Posted March 8, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2006 Carnival ships have one outlet in the main cabin area, and it is three-prong. The outlet in the bathoom has a sign that it's for electric razors only. Forget taking an extension cord, or a power strip - simply get a 79 cent 'adapter' at WalMart. It's about 3" long, fits into the outlet, and you then have three outlets - with no long cords or power strip to pack.;)
