PAssport vs. Birth Certificate

I agree with everyone. Passports are much easier in the security lines and you only have it to have to worry about holding with your tickets instead of your tickets, your drivers license and your birth certificate. You have to apply the Post Office, though, not the court house. Also, when you take a new job, you only have to bring your passport for them to copy instead of two other forms of ID.

Rogersne,
You are right. I was looking at the government website today about passports and it lists different "agencies" to go to for application.
We have to go to our "main" post office. I apologize for the incorrect information.

Passport is the way to go!! To save on the passport photos, have them done at WAL-MART.

WalMart, Walgreens, and other places with photo shops do them, usually pretty cheap. But cheaper still, if you have AAA, you can have the Passport Photo's done there for Free!

I agree with the other posters, Passport is the way to go. It is so much easier and faster. Is also good for all travel, and forms of ID.

Ok, so I might be a little bit anxious - call me crazy, but we stopped in our main post office & picked up the forms to renew my passport & to get my bf a new one. Yes, we are taking care of this within the next month - and our cruise isn't until Jan 2005!! Needless to say, we will definitely be prepared in the proper ID department. Happy sailing!

I've always used my Passport when I fly domestically, as well as going on cruises and vacations outside the US. I've had one since I was 18, and have a great "Passport collection"! My expired ones have all of the pages filled with stamps of the countries I've visited, and it's nice to "reminisce" occasionally. (The down side is seeing myself age every ten years . ) Besides, it's always there when the really good last-minute deal comes along! We went to London from Atlanta a couple of years ago, with r/t air, and 4 nights hotel for $399.00 pp. Went to Fiji on a last-minute deal with r/t air from LAX for - get this - $199.00 pp. Hotel was cheap, too. Too good to pass up. My Passport - I never leave home without it!

When I got a mortgage they needed ID and we were giving them our drivers license. They asked if we had passports instead. That was a first.

I have a section on my website for passports and birth certificates in the miscellaneous section.
