This was the party you missed! Beautiful sunset, great food and cocktails, The Captain, Hotel Director, F&B Manager, Bar Manager, Chief Engineer, Guest Services Manager, plus many other Officers all attended! The Captain slowed down the ship so we had no wind out the front, just a nice breeze.....perfect setting!

Also, florisdekort, you got the “scoop” on me yesterday 😎, about Ross pix.  Helping to serve in the “Galley Lunch”, one of our fave things.  Somehow, I had a brain fart about taking any pix of the lunch, so…sorry.   (a side note  —  as opposed to the last 2 galley meals, they announced that this one would require no guest masks, when in the galley).

Ok, on to Mahe, in the Seychelles.  We did a combo snorkel-bus tour - snorkeling was, I think, just ok.  The island, though, is colorful and gorgeous.

These beautiful blossoms were strewn all around -  our guide said they were from an “African magnolia” tree, although I’m thinking there might have been a bit of the ol’ translation/language problem with that.  When I searched for “African Magnolia”, I came up with hundreds of hits about a Liberian cargo ship.

Ha!  Wouldn’t you just know.  Mere minutes after posting my chair leg design dissertation, I noticed the the second chair in the suite…..didn't look like that.  Flipped this one over, screwed the leg in further, and…..all is well.   It’s still not exactly aligned the way it should be, but at least there will not be any backward somersaults.

OK. Second day in the Seychelles - we did another snorkel/catamaran trip - this one was excellent.  It was advertised as “snorkeling at Cocos Island”, which I had always read about and lusted over 🙄.  As it turned out, we sailed by Cocos…..

…and ended up at Grand Coeur Island, for reasons which were announced but not really explained.  Anyway, it was pretty great, this was orders-of-magnitude better snorkeling than yesterday, and possibly the best on this trip (and that’s it, no more snorkeling on this one. 😞).  Loads of parrotfish, tiny blue tangs (I think), huge angelfish, and it was lovely to just float around and watch a turtle lazily do his thing.  He disappeared  down below a reef shelf, and up top I heard a few fellow snorkelers panic and say “he’s trapped under there, what should we do?!”  Understandable certainly, but they do this all the time, to take a 15-minute marine nap away from the noise of the underwater hoi polloi.
