Rare sns1 Posted January 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2023 Does Princess have an excursion to Brooks Fall to view the bears? We are doing a 13 day off the beaten path cruisetour but I don't see any excursion listed. Help! I will be posting this on the Alaska port of call also. Just trying to cover all areas. Thanks! Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted January 8, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2023 Sorry...never heard of Brooks Falls, though based on the context in your post it appears to be an Alaskan itinerary. It might help to post what port you are talking about.
Rare gottagocit Posted January 8, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2023 (edited) I doubt it very seriously. It wasn’t offered when we did our last Alaska voyage many years ago. It’s so remote that it would be hard to do in a port day if not impossible. Also the flights in and nights stay there is quite expense too, though that in itself doesn’t prohibit it from being an excursion of course. It would be interested to though but I would want to stay a night or two to be sure to get the full experience. Never saw it in a the cruise tours either. One last thing I believe the overnight stays there sell out many months in advance. Edited January 8, 2023 by gottagocit
Rare gottagocit Posted January 8, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2023 I suppose you’ve seen the webcam that’s maintained during salmon sun seasons when the bears are feeding? It’s pretty amazing to see on the computer. I grew up a pretty serious outdoorsman and hunter and have always thought the documentaries showing the herds of migrating Wildebeest crossing the Mara River in Tanzania as the crocodiles try to feed on them to be interesting also when I’ve seen them on tv but last July when we actually witnessed it in real time we actually found it far more sad and painful to see in person. It probably wouldn’t seem as moving with its small fish but not who knows I guess. Btw for the cost of a couple days at Brooks falls you’re probably close to 1/4 the cost of a 8-10 day photo safari in Tanzania that would blow your mind. The amount of wildlife you see it’s stunning. Just a thought.
