driving/staying in new orleans

We are leaving out of NO on jan 29th.... my question is where is the best place to stay that has a park and cruise option that is not right in the middle of a bunch of traffic and easy to get to. Neither of us like driving in heavy congestion and not knowing where to go makes it worse. Just want somewhere easy to get in and out.. we will take an uber to get out and about and then to the port.  Thanks for the help!

Maybe this will  help:

I would seriously consider the Hampton Inn - Convention Center.

They offer a stay and cruise parking. It's close to the freeway.  They do offer a shuttle to the cruise port.  If  you're on Carnival, you could walk to the port.

The hilton garden inn is another good choice.

If  you can't get a cruise and park, both of these are close to the Fulton Garage Parking which also provides a shuttle to the port.

Were booked on the glory leaving that Sunday, everything that we researched was booked in NO so were staying in Baton Rouge. I guess all is booked due to the 4th of July weekend,

check back a couple of weeks before  your cruise.  Third party agents like often book too many rooms and will release them back to the  hotel about two weeks out.

I know it is too late to be useful to help you, unless you sail out of New Orleans again, but just in case somebody else reads this thread looking for advice, I just want to mention that one of my friends from Where's George sails out of New Orleans every year.  She and her husband stays at Holiday Inn New Orleans West Bank Tower on the border of Gretna and Terrytown to take advantage of the Stay Park and Cruise Package.
