Water in bottles or cans on Mariner of the Seas

There is no way to know in advance.  I was on a B2B on BR last month.  Was disappointed to see cans in my room on the first leg for my “welcome aboard” drink from loyalty.  I confirmed with the bar tenders that they only had cans onboard, no bottles.  On turnaround day I went to Publix and bought a case of bottled water.  Got back to my room and found 4 bottles waiting for me!  I noticed they were only serving cans at the bars though, until about half way through the cruise, then they switched to bottles ship wide.
