babba Posted January 18, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2023 I have a cruise scheduled to sail early February. I realize that I can not ask for any reimbursement if the price of the cruise goes down. Here is my question. The price of the next category cabin went down a few hundred dollars less than what I paid. I called and asked if I could switch cabins and how much would it cost me. I was expecting a small service fee for the changes. Again I did not ask for any money back although I paid more for my cabin. The agent said it would cost me $4,000 to upgrade. I terminated the conversation. Is this a new policy ?
julig22 Posted January 18, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2023 Not exactly new, been that way since about August 2021. Paid upgrades only is the current policy. Even if it's $1. I've seen posts from people saying they did get a free upgrade, so take what you read with a grain of salt.
Rare Liljo22 Posted January 18, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2023 Also, if the price of your category went down, you can ask for FCC in the amount of the difference. While they claim this is not a set policy, they have been giving it pretty regularly.
