Going on Explorer. Hows the parking?

Recommended Posts

What port are you leaving from? We now always drive to the ports from NC. When we lived in NJ we never did. Parking fees depend on the port. In Port Canaveral they were $15 a day! (We didn't park at the port!) We ususlly go day before and leave car at hotel for free or have car rental places we can leave our car for $6 a day.

We have parked in Bayonne twice before and will again in May. Parking is great - large open lot with plenty of space. I have read here that it is now $15 a day but in my opinion well worth it. You can stay to your left when entering, drive past the terminal and drop off your luggage and then circle around staying to your right this time to enter parking lot. There is a shuttle circling around the lot to take you back to the terminal but it is an easy walk without your luggage.

It still states $12 per day which is what we paid in Sept 2005. The people were very nice. We were concerned about the detachable 'basket' on our truck getting stolen and the guy offered to keep it in his office which was a tiny, tiny shed. We couldn't do that to the guy so we just left it and it was fine.
