Combination Cruise and Stay Option

Do any of the cruise lines offer a cruise and stay option? For example, sail from Ft. Lauderdale to one of the Caribbean islands. Disembark and stay on the island for a number of days and then get on another cruise ship (same line) on the same itinerary and sail back to Ft. Lauderdale. I know that this sounds unusual, but on our southern Caribbean cruise onboard the Zaandam last week, we met some people who did this in the mid 1980's. It sounded like a great idea, but I am sure that it would be an immigration nightmare.
