paul1815 Posted January 28, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2023 I want to buy a plastic cover for lanyards we have, but didn't know if the Seacard is larger than a typical credit card. Does anyone know the actual size of the current cards they use?

born-to-cruise Posted January 29, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2023 (edited) Measure a Credit Card and you'll not be wrong. Born-To-Cruise (Diamond+) Past Cruises: 18-RCI, 3-Carnival, 1-Celebrity and 1-NCL (funds permitting, always looking forward to great cruises) Edited January 29, 2023 by born-to-cruise

Again, my experience, we are always pulling out the card to pay for this, that, or the other thing, depending on the plastic cover, not always an easy thing to do. It becomes a pain in the butt pulling it out of the plastic cover all the time. I've got a collection of Cruise Card covers for two cruise lines. They sit at home now. It's just too easy to have a hole punched (I bring my own punch in case they won't do it on the ship) in the card and just hand the lanyard over to the bartender or whatever, it also makes it easy to keep track of where the card is at the bar, restaurant, ship. Sometimes they get busy and hand the wrong card back to you. It's hard to do with the lanyard attached. Having said that, Amazon has lots of lanyards/plastic covers available. YMMV
Oxo Posted January 29, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 29, 2023 For a lanyard, go to Dollar Tree only $1.25 plus tax. Your money, your choice. LOL

YMMV Keep in mind there are some ships that use RFID tech in their cards. If you punch the hole wrong, you'll break the antenna and the RFID will no longer work. We used these for our lanyards on our last cruise: https://www.amazon.com/Gripper-Standard-Thickness-ID-Individually/dp/B004XWD53K/ref=sr_1_6?crid=3F8ZGT9KQX4SI&keywords=id%2Bcard%2Bgripper&qid=1675011563&sprefix=id%2Bcard%2Bgripper%2Caps%2C109&sr=8-6&th=1. I'd give them about a 7 out of 10. If they won't, I use the light on my phone and see where the antenna is and punch away. If the light on my phone isn't strong enough, a good flashlight will geterdone.
