Istanbul Hotels?

No specific recommendations, but make it a hotel in Sultanahmet - most of the sights are easily walkable.

And a bonus if it's one with a rooftop terrace - ideal for breakfast, for dinner if you dine-in, and for late-evening drinks.

For their local flavour we always try to choose a lodging appropriate to the place rather than a cloned modern international hotel. For instance in Miami it's an art-deco South Beach hotel, in hills & forests a log cabin, in African game areas a rondeval, in France a chateau, in England a coaching inn.

And in Istanbul an Ottoman House. But a mistake that we made in Istanbul was not to ensure that it had an elevator - I'll swear that each day while we were out they added an extra floor 😏
