Needing help planning for sailing with kids into St John

Will be there off Adventure of the Seas from 7am - 4pm one day in May. Looking for best way to have a beach day or see the sights with young kids. Transportation is always the issue. It's not fun to lug around car seats and keep the sand out of them at the beach. Are any hotels, beach clubs, or other ideas popping to mind? Thanks for the suggestions. We are great swimmers and experienced cruisers but the youngins' make it a tad bit difficult... but SO MUCH more fun! 🙂

How old are the kids? The Adventure of the Seas should dock at Crown Bay, and it's a quick taxi ride to Emerald Beach from there. Most taxis let you put your kids on your lap (shhh, island secret) because the route to beach is short, and speed limit is very slow. The taxi driver has discretion as to whether to charge for child.

There's also a VI government run kiddie water park a short walk north of Emerald Beach. Very popular with local families and groups, but open to public.

Post again closer to May if you want more info.

Love your post and attitude!

So are you actually just looking for an easy beach day on ST Thomas where you dock? Not St John…If so I agree that Lindbergh Bay - aka Emerald Beach after the Emerald Beach Resort - is your best bet for a decent beach with comfortable amenities for you.

Your choice on a shared safari taxi with your kiddo on your lap, or a private ride with a car set, taxis are at your disposal at the dock.
