Visas for Egypt

Has anyone got a visa for Egypt on the ship before a tour?

The two times I visited Egypt on a cruise, the cruise line provided the necessary visa once onboard the ship. This was on Holland America and Princess but I thought it was standard procedure as this is just a visa of convenience.

Did you have to pay the $25 and get a visa label just like at the airport? I'm curious how they handle that.

They provided everyone with a visa and charged a small amount (may have been $15 then) to our shipboard account.

I have not visited Egypt on a Celebrity cruise but did in Oct 2022 on Azamara- visa was obtained by ship and no charge to us.
