Luggage on Southbound (Fairbanks) land tour before cruise at Whittier

I may have missed a post on the subject but we did the land on Celebrity in 2010 , they did a great job with our luggage at each hotel/lodge stopover. Does HAL limit the luggage for each passenger to just one per person?  We had planned our land and cruise with three bags for the two of us. HAL is very vague  on their web site. I understand we cannot take the luggage on the bus or train. So my main question is are we limited to one large luggage ?

Last summer, our party of three each took a roller suitcase from the time we got off the plane in Fairbanks until we got on the ship.  We were just on a land and sea cruise (no side airplane trip).  We found the HAL instructions hard to understand and follow.  Our luggage was handled perfectly.  I only carried a backpack with meds and electronics.

We were allowed two luggage each plus small size hand carry item.  You are also given the option to send extra luggage to the ship prior to leaving for the land portion

We pack with three bags for the two of us.  One suitcase is for the ship and we don’t plan to open it on the land part.  HAL sometimes will ask you to label the ship bag “Meet me at the SHIP”.  With some tours, like the Yukon tours, that isn’t possible because of airport security.  There is the bag that travels with you AND a small bag to keep with you on the bus or train…at tour seat.  The other bag will travel separately and will be in your room when you arrive at each destination (Denali, Anchorage, ship) along the way.
