Southampton - ASDA shopping

Would the ASDA store in Southampton carry clothing?  (i.e., tee shirts, pjs, slippers, etc.)  Part of the plan to travel light from the US, is being able to buy inexpensive everyday items for our 3 wks in the UK. 

 

Also, it looks like the ASDA store is pretty much right across the street from where the National Express coach drops off in Southampton (coming from Heathrow).  Is that correct?

It does, and it is. The clothing range is called George at Asda.

You cross the road from the coach station  to the white portico  pedestrian entrance to the multi-storey car-park & take the elevator. There's  a button marked ASDA or store or some-such. This takes you into the rear entrance of the ASDA store (the front entrance onto Portland Terrace is at that level.

If the selection or quality isn't what you're looking for,  there's a Marks & Spencer and a number of clothing shops 5 - 10 minutes away in the West Quay Mall

And would there be taxis close by ASDA to take us to our hotel down by the cruise port?

I believe there is a taxi rank outside Asda in Portland Terrace. There’s also one at the coach station. Or you can just use Uber.

Taxi rank at the coach station . Often empty but taxis swing by.

Or out of the front exit of ASDA (exit is at shop-floor level) onto Portland Terrace,  go right & walk down to the rank just beyond where shops go across the road.
