We have been looking at doing this cruise perhaps in 2007 and wonder if anyone can give us any information on this. We wonder how the transfer from Seattle to Honolulu works and was it rushed.

We would like to see both Alaksa and Hawaii and think this would be a good oportunity.

Any informatioin would be gratefully received.

It is two separate cruises but appears as one in our brochure.

You fly to Seattle and then cruise Alaska and then fly from Seattle to Honolulu for the second cruise.

We like the sound of it but wonder about having to rush from the boat in Seattle to get to the airport etc and would appreciate any advice or information on this.

That sounds pretty good! Do they put you on the NCL Star or Sun for Alaska? Which ship in Hawaii?

NCL is responsible for transfers so you will have no worries. It's a nonstop flight from Seattle to Honolulu.

Getting on and off the American flagged ships in Hawaii is also very fast, since there is no immigration/customs issues.

In the NCL brochure for this year they use the Norwegian Sun for the Alaska and the Pride of Aloha for the rest of the trip.

Sounds excellent to us and we are seriously thinking of doing it next year.

Just wondering when is the best time for Alaska and would like to perhaps stand a chance of seeing the Northern Lights and of course Whales and would appreciate any help or advice.

The cruise is called A Journey to Fire and Ice and is an 18 night trip from England

The Dates are from May to September

Check the ports of call forum: alaska on this site for more specific alaska info. The Weather near the edges of the season (may and sept) is more variable. It's a little hot in Hawaii then but I think you'll still like it. If you have time for an extra day or two in hawaii after your cruise it might be a nice addition, I'm sure they would allow it.
