dlhooper Posted February 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2023 We are taking the NCL Inter-island Hawaiian cruise and would like to take an early non-NCL excursion. What are NCL rules for leaving the ship early in the morning? Ship isn't due to leave until later in the afternoon. TIA
Rare KeithJenner Posted February 11, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2023 You can come and go as you want throughout the stay. Many people leave very early in the morning for things like viewing the sunrise. Just walk off when you want.
casofilia Posted February 11, 2023 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2023 Only one thing that applies. At some ports the port closes down overnight and you can't get out or in the port. Other than that @KeithJenner is correct
dlhooper Posted February 12, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted February 12, 2023 Follow up question. Does anyone know the port hours for Maui? Can one leave early?
Rare Sailing12Away Posted February 13, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2023 The port access is restricted, or it was when we were there a few years ago. We rented a car day 1 on Maui and watched the sunset on Haleakala. Dropped the car back off at the airport, then took an Uber to the port. To get back into the port all of us had to show our room cards and photo ID to be allowed through the gate. If you're trying to plan a super early excursion for day 2, just work out the logistics of where you're getting picked up from. Your tour guide may have trouble getting into the port for a close pick-up that early in the morning.
