ginnyeck Posted March 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2006 Does anyone know if the personal email address that we got from Majesty are to be used for emergency contact? Does the ship pick up the emails and deliver to your room or do you need to go online to check them? Wondering if I should give them to the kids here or not??? Thanks (we are leaving in 2 days, 3 hours & 45 minutes, buts who's counting?)
Fam of 5 Posted March 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2006 You would have to check the e-mails yourself. It's best to gove the the telephone number for the ship that is on your doc's. In the event of an emergency they can call the ship directly and get in touch with you.
Intrepid Posted March 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2006 In past NCL trips we were given a ship to shore phone number to use for emergencies. The email address was available in the cyber cafe with the purchase of a block of minutes, but of course that may all be different now. Have a great trip! WaldosPepper Posted March 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 9, 2006 In all honesty it's much wiser to use your own email address for any day-to-day communications, as you can access it far faster than the ship's email address! ;) In the event of an emergency I would strongly recommend using the telephone, not email! :) Have a FABULOUS cruise! Big Al B. Posted March 9, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2006 Check with your ISP. I know I can access my email from their website anywhere I happen to be. You can also open a Hotmail or Yahoo mail account to use.
BrassMonkey Posted March 9, 2006 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2006 You are much farther ahead to use your own e-mail account to communicate from the Majesty. If you wish to use the cruise-mail account to send an e-mail an additional charge is attached to the cost of the internet time. You can purchase a block of internet minutes at the start of the cruise. I believe it is 100 minutes for $55.00 with a bonus 10 minutes then just sign on when you want to your own provider and send your e-mail at no extra cost. Emergency contact should be by phone. Hope you have as good a time as we just spent on this beautiful little ship.
