Port Time vs Ship Time

I will be on the CB in May. Booked an excursion in St Thomas for 10:30am and one in St. Maarten for 9:00am. Is that ship time or port time? What will the ship time be vs the port time? I'm confused on how these times work! Thanks!

For any cruise be aware as to ship times, since all ship related events happen on ships time. If you have ship sponsored excursions they will happen on ships time, if you have private excursions make sure you understand whose time they are going on. Read the Patter for news on changing clocks ahead or backwards. (Have you ever found a clock on the wall somewhere in the ship?) As you leave the ship you can always ask for the correct ships time.

We were in Alicante, Spain and a couple missed the ship as they read the Patter from the day before and missed the correct time for the ships sailing. They caught up in Barcelona. Captain said they gave the passports to the Port Authority so the people could have them.

A really good argument for the ship's purser holding passports.

I just got off the CB on the first night you will have a card on your pillow that tells you to set you clock ahead 1 hour before you go to sleep. On the last night at sea you will get another card on your pillow that tells you to set you clock back 1 hour before you go to sleep.

When you change your watch the ship changes it's clocks and the ship and port will on the same time.
