SSFrance69 Posted February 15, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2023 Has anyone done this excursion and how was it? The description says it includes a mile hike, mostly uphill with footholds. Just wondering how strenuous it is and if the footholds are easy to navigate. Do they take it nice and slow uphill?

We did it and it was a lot more strenuous than they let on. Instead of 3 hikers it should have been a 5, but 3 is as high as they go. It is pretty steep uphill. They do take it easy on you. But it all depends on what kind of shape you are in to begin with. They have drinks waiting for you at the end.

If anyone can recommend one of the other shore excursions that Oceana typically does in St. Vincent, I'd love to hear thoughts. I was also considering the catamaran sail to Bequia, but it sounds like they really pile too many people on the sailboat for that one.
maccrate Posted March 4, 2023 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2023 I agree with JRIH; we too went on this excursion. The term "Nature Trail" suggests a casual stroll, but this was a full-on hike up a mountain in muddy, slippery conditions. Very strenuous. Was it easier going up or coming down? Both were treacherous in a couple of places, and slippery in both directions. They offer walking sticks at the beginning, and they are almost a necessity. I agree that it should be rated a 5 rather than a 3.
