I thought it was 1 made on the island but not sure how many more. Thanks in advance~

Nliedel Posted March 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 9, 2006 You can bring more back from St. Thomas because it is a US destination. You can bring back, within reason, as much as you wish but you will pay duty (tax) on anything over one litre. From the USVI you may bring back 5 one fifth botthes plus one locally made fifth (Cruzan Rum for example). This is a paraphrase from the US Customs site. Mmm...coffee! Posted March 9, 2006 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2006 In practical terms, the duty on a bottle of liquor is only a dollar or two and IIRC does not apply to liquor purchases in its country of origin. Declare your purchase whether it exceeds the limit or not. It is likely that the customs agent won't even bother charging duty because it's too much of a hassle for the few dollars.
