World Cruise insurance

Recommended Posts

Hi - I've asked the same question.  Even through specialist cruise insurers the 'best' cancellation cover I've found is £15k - which isn't enough cover for even the lowest grade of cabin for a world or extended cruise. The other 'barriers' appear to be duration and itinerary.  Let's hope the folks at InsureMyTrip come up trumps with some options.  I've discovered that the one UK based company that do 'top up' cancellation insurance (at a whopping cost!) won't however cover medical, repatriation or cruise interruption due to the duration and world itinerary of the cruise I was wanting to take. I have also looked at whether its feasible to buy cover from multiple insurers for the same trip to get the total amount of cover needed, but have been advised by numerous brokers to not even think of doing that as it would be impossible to successfully get any claim actually paid out. Even though I've thankfully never had to claim on a travel insurance policy and am relatively fit and well  - it would be a worry to risk going on a trip knowing that I was under insured.
