Best beach for sunning/swimming on west side

Hello...

 

We will be in St. Maarten in 3 weeks and will be driving around....thinking that we'll go from Phillipsburg up to Marigot, then drive around the coast on the west side of the island, winding up at Maho for some airplane sighting (hopefully) early in the afternoon. We'd like to stop at a beach prior to that just to relax a bit and maybe hit the water - but looking for the best beach(s) on the west side that wouldn't typically have really rough surf, or really rocky.....just something nice and calm.

Any suggestions???
